QNAP TS-253A 2-Bay NAS Enclosure Discription

The TS-253A is an EXCELLENT NAS. However, it was released in October 2015 and is now end-of-life. What this means in real terms is that QNAP has ceased production of this NAS and moved onto a newer model. As you rightly point out, the TS-253Be is the successor to the device. I can comfortably say that in almost all regards, the newer TS-253Be is a better NAS. However, there are a few areas to remember. One, the TS-253Be does not include a remote control (though this can be purchased separately, or you can use the office QNAP app for iOs and Android). Two the TS-253A is almost completely metal in design, whereas the TS-253Be is smaller and more plastic in its outer casing. This is not really a big issue and something more of a personal preference.
